For the second time in two months, according to the Orlando Sentinel, a man has attempted to abduct a child in Orlando.
It was a parent’s nightmare: a daughter’s scream in the middle of the night.
And about 4:30 a.m. Thursday, a father in east Orange County discovered his 4-year-old girl not in her bed and a strange man scrambling out a nearby window.
The father chased the suspect out of the home. The girl was not hurt.
Although the incident in the Andover Cay subdivision was extremely unusual, it was the second in as many months in east Orange County, sheriff’s Sgt. Rich Mankewich said.
Last month, according to a sheriff’s report, a man tried to kidnap a 2-year-old boy who was playing in the backyard of a home near South Goldenrod Road.
Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect.
There are 21 missing children listed at the NCMEC as missing. All are either Case Type: Endangered Runaway except for 8-year-old Lorenzo Ayubo who has been missing since August 2004.
Earlier this week another stranger abduction took place in Hidalgo Texas.Fortunately the child was found and the abductor arrested.

Trail Of Beer Cans Led Detectives To Suspect In Attempted Abduction
Reyes, 44, was arrested Sunday night and charged with kidnapping after a four-day search for a man who entered the Orange County home early Thursday morning and tried to abduct the girl.
Detectives said they do not know why Reyes targeted the home, but beer cans found behind the home with Reyes’ DNA on them suggest he spent time watching the home.
Detectives named Reyes as a suspect after examining the empty cans of Natural Ice beer left behind the house.
“One thing that put this guy in jail is that he’s a litter bug. He should’ve picked up his empties or we wouldn’t even have him right now,” Sgt. Rich Mankewich of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office told WKMG-TV.
An empty can of beer yielded DNA and fingerprints, but a check of the statewide database came up empty.
Detectives then decided to follow the trail of beer cans to the nearest store, a Publix, where they looked up sales of Natural Ice.
“Publix pulled up all the names; we pulled videotape matching all the times of those sales,” Mankewich said.
