Reminiscent of the disappearance of  Adji Desir earlier this year,  Sandra Cantu is missing from her Tracy, Ca. home. An Immokalee, Fl. 6-year-old, Adji vanished from his grandmother’s Farm Worker Village home on Jan. 10. He was last seen walking away after playing with other children. An AMBER Alert wasn’t issued because Florida authorities believed there were no signs of an abduction. He remains missing.

In the disappearance of Sandra, she was last seen after playing with a friend. An AMBER Alert wasn’t issued as it is not beleived by authorities that an abduction has taken place.

(CNN) — Eight-year-old Sandra Cantu came home from school, kissed her mother, and left to color and play with a friend who lived a couple of houses down.

That was at 3 p.m. Friday.

By Tuesday — despite an intense search by hundreds of search-and-rescue personnel and volunteers over three days — the little girl in the pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings had yet to be found.

The mysterious disappearance of Sandra from the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park in Tracy, California — about 60 miles east of San Francisco — has baffled law enforcement officials. A dozen different agencies are looking for her.

It isn’t clear if this man is involved with her disappearance, however his actions are disturbing to many. Some media outlets are reporting Sandra was “friendly” with older men in the neighborhood but not defining what “friendly” means. Most describe her as a typical outgoing second-grader who has a bubbly personality.

Man who kissed missing girl questioned

A man who lived in a trailer behind the one in which Sandra Cantu lives has been questioned three times by police, but he’s no more a suspect now than anyone else, investigators say. Glenn Moore/Tracy PressPolice have questioned a martial arts instructor three times about his alleged sexual interaction two years ago with an 8-year-old Tracy girl missing since Friday.

Police and the family have confirmed that the man — whose name and age police, family and neighbors withheld — had reportedly kissed Sandra Cantu on the lips while she was swimming in the mobile home park’s pool two years ago. Sandra’s 15-year-old brother Thomas Fortin suggested he might be in his 40s or 50s.

The man lives behind the home of Sandra, who was last seen around 4 p.m. Friday before the family reported her missing. More than 73 hours have passed since then.

A couple of stories concerning adult males in Milwaukee, both of whom had fascination with missing children cases, recently made news headlines.

Sex assault suspect befriended family of murdered boy

When 14-year-old John Zera was murdered in 1976, Daniel Acker made it his personal crusade to solve the crime. He befriended John’s family, which included two teenage brothers. He brought other young men with him to investigate in Whitnall Park, where John’s body was found. He even persuaded a patient at the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex, where he worked, to falsely confess to the crime.

Acker, who was charged Friday with sexually assaulting a teenage boy and whose basement contained a trove of disturbing keepsakes, was well known to the police who investigated John’s death but isn’t a suspect in the murder, said Detective Kent Schoonover of the Hales Corners Police Department.

“He’s basically a predator pedophile, but Acker did not kill John Zera,” said Schoonover, who dusted off the cold case a few years ago.

There is no evidence tying Acker to the crime, and the only information he knew about the case he obtained from the media and from John’s family, Schoonover said. The man who police believe killed John is living on the West Coast.

Vernon Seitz, a retired barber who passed away on Dec. 15th , 2008 allegedly told his psychiatrist that he had killed two children in 1958 and needed to confess. Police have been unable to locate his victims but it has been suggested he was responsible for other cases though no evidence has linked him to the crimes.

Mystery Remains After Wisconsin Man’s Deathbed ‘Confession’

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police have investigated a suburban barber’s reported deathbed statement that he was a child killer but found no connection with any missing child case, including that of a Minnesota boy abducted two decades ago, a police spokeswoman said Tuesday night.
