MIAMI, FL — A Florida Endangered Missing Child Alert is in effect as authorities look for a 6-month-old boy from Miami.
The infant’s name is Riley Buchness.
MIAMI – Megan McCormic gave quite a performance, police say, with her tearful pleas and photos of her kidnapped baby riveting viewers and sending two dozen detectives scurrying on Christmas Day.
But McCormic made up the whole story — in fact, she fabricated the 6-month-old baby itself — in a twisted attempted to hang on to a boyfriend living 1,400 miles away, Miami police told cbs4.com this morning.
McCormic, 22, has been charged with a misdemeanor of filing a false police report, but police want her to pay for the overtime and expenses that went into the two-day search.
