The child’s mother told detectives she last saw her son, Joe Kelley III, around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. She said he was with his step-father in the area of 18th and S. Sheridan. Detectives said the step-father denies the child was with him.
Officials believe the boy could be in danger.
Joe is three-years-old and was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a white, long sleeve shirt. If you have seen him, call 9-1-1 immediately.
Michael Brummett, the child’s step-father, was arrested on assault and battery, shooting into an occupied dwelling and assault with a deadly weapon charges. Police say this stems from an assault on the child’s mother that happened Sunday night.

Joe Kelley, III had been missing since Sunday night when his mother and step-father, Michael Brummett, had an argument in a car.
A police report says Brummett hit the boy’s mother. She ran from the car and into a nearby home.
