The first week of May was one many people will long remember. That particular week we learned of the story of Madeleine McCann the missing 3-year-old (at the time) from Portugal. The town of Greensburg Kansas was devastated by a tornado. The Queen of England was visiting the U.S. and  attended the run for the roses at the Kentucky Derby.

It was also the weekend Kara Kopetsky went missing. Her disappearance is receiving re-newed attention because of possible links to the tragic death of Kelsey Smith.

On May 4, 2007, Kara Kopetsky disappeared from Belton High School, in Belton, Mo.  At first glance, it wasn’t that alarming: cops say Kara had runaway in the past. Usually, she’d leave and come back within a few days. This time was different. She never returned..
