One of the many recognized people during the National Missing Children Day ceremonies was another teenager who chose to get involved in the search for a missing child. Instead of building a websites  like 18-year-old Calum MacRae did for missing Madeleine McCann , he relied on his powers of observation. 

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) presented 16-year-old Mitchell Hults with its Citizen Hero Award. Searching their sites gives the impression he is the first recipient of the award as no previous winners are cited.

His information led to the recovery of two abducted Missouri boys and the arrest of Michael Devlin accused of their kidnappings. He was previously lauded for his ability to recall specific details regarding the vehicle believed to have been used in one of the abductions.

Previously he received a new pickup and a college scholarship for his efforts from others appreciative of his willingness to help.
