According to this article, Sergey Malinka, 22, designed a website for Anglo-Portuguese man Robert Murat.

He spent several weeks helping Robert Murat, 33, and his German girlfriend Michaela Walczuch set up their property website Romigen – which is short for Robert/Michaela/Genesis.

The site is experiencing heavy traffic and is generally unavailable.

Update 05-21-07:  A comment below suggests the “gen” in Romigen actually stands for Genaro Acosta Gonzales. A Google search on that name will return a listing at another property company in Portugal Gabino Homes (Google translated to English). There may be no connection between these two companies nor has the comment been verified.

Update 07-10-07:
Robert Murat, 33, is reported as being re-questioned at a police station in the Algarve. What this means is anyone’s guess as some media outlets are suggesting arrests are pending. He is not presently mentioned by name as one of those considered.

Update 08-21-07  Are police close to an arrest as this article  suggests?

POLICE are preparing to arrest a British man after a breakthrough in the search for Madeleine McCann.

Reports from Portugal today said detectives in the UK had received details from colleagues in Praia da Luz about someone living in this country.

What role if any did Robert Murat have in her disappearance? In this article, “MADDIE COPS TOTALLY CLUELESS” it could make you wonder.

…Robert Murat’s home was raided by police who seized his computers.
When they found names and four-digit numbers on a spreadsheet they were convinced they had unearthed “encrypted codes for a paedophile ring.”

But the list was simply a family tree giving the names and birth dates of the estate agent’s relatives…

Utah Amber Alert Coordinator Paul Murphy commented to KSLTV 5 his concern about the Amber Alert system.

“My biggest fear about the Amber Alert is indifference, that people will see an Amber Alert and say, it’s not my kid, but the truth is, it’s somebody’s kid,” Murphy says.

Some may believe they are not used often enough.

Since Utah began its Amber Alert system five years ago, there have been 18 Amber Alerts for 21 children. Of those 21 children, 18 were recovered and reunited with their families. Two children were killed, and officials believe they were already dead by the time the Amber Alert was issued, and one case is still unknown. But even still, of those 21 children in which Amber Alerts were activated, the state has an 86 percent success rate.

In Utah, like most states, an Amber Alert is only used for serious child abduction cases and cannot be used for runaways or most parental abduction cases unless the child’s life is being threatened. There are 18 missing children currently listed at the NCMEC. They are not included in the Amber Alert statistics.

The initiating agency must determine if the criteria for an Endangered Person Advisory is met:

1-Is the person missing under unexplained or suspicious circumstances?

2-Is the person believed to be in danger because of age, health, mental or physical disability, environment or weather conditions, in the company of a potentially dangerous person or some other factor that may put the person in peril?

3-Is there information that could assist the public in the safe recovery of the missing person?

4-Do the circumstances fail to meet the criteria for an AMBER Alert? (If they do meet the criteria for an AMBER Alert, immediately follow the protocol to issue an AMBER Alert).
