The following is an appeal from her father,

Please Help Find Amy
Hi – my name is Christopher Fitzpatrick and I’m Amy’s dad.

It has been 12 months since Amy went missing in Mijas, Spain. Not a day has gone by since then that her family and friends have not suffered to know where Amy is. I know, from the many letters of support and calls I have received, that the pain of her disappearance is shared by many of you – family, friends and even people who did not know Amy but for whom the story has touched a nerve. Thank you all for your support to date but this is an appeal for more.

We know that there are people who have information which would help bring Amy back. This is a special appeal to those who, for whatever reason, have chosen to remain silent or who have not been able to share information up to now. Please, please – do the right thing and share what you know.

We have retained the services of Liam Brady to assist in reviewing the details of the case. In Ireland – information can be given to the Gardaí. In Spain, the Guardia Civil can be contacted on +34-636-079-619. If you cannot contact the relevant authorities or the family – then perhaps you can contact Liam or provide information in private.

Whether you have direct knowledge of what happened or are simply a friend who might have heard or seen something around that time which may be relevant – please take the time to send details no matter how insignificant they may appear.

We are also appealing to third parties who may have come in contact with information or people connected with the case. Perhaps you know specific details or have seen information (whether confirmed or otherwise) which may give a new direction to the search. Howsoever, you have come by information which may be relevant, you can be assured of my appreciation and blessing for any details which you can share which can help bring Amy back.

Thank you for taking the time to read this appeal and for any information which you can share.

Christopher

Note:  Birthday appeal

I am heart broken to be saying this, Amy missed her 16th Birthday and this Saturday 7th February she will be 17 and Amy still has not been found. The past year has been the hardest year of my life not knowing where my daughter is or what has happened to Amy. Myself and my sons Dean and Alex will be going to our local church to light a candle for Amy on her birthday and the rest of my family will be going to there own local church to do the same.

As you are aware Liam Brady one of the top Private Investigator has been hired by myself and my sister to help in the search for Amy. I would like to thank the many people that have come forward with information and I am appealing to anyone that knows anything to continue to contact Liam no matter how insignificant you think it is.

We have been in contact with Aer Lingus in Malaga Airport and they have passed a new appeal poster with Liam’s details to the Aena Airport Manager who will pass the appeal poster to be placed in the Guardia Civil offices, Police offices, Security, airlines etc. If you live in Spain please make people aware Liam is working on Amy’s case and pass his website to them www.liambrady.ie

Amy if you can see this, I promised at the begining of this nightmare I would never give up on the search for you and I will continue until I find you. We will make sure no stones are left unturned. If you can see this please call me on 00353857542452

All my love
Dad, & your brothers Dean & Alex

John Patrick Rowan’s mother, Margaret, is involved with several Florida based charities that support search efforts and justice for missing children.  One of them is the Child Alert Center Charities where she is a Board Member. What makes her unique, outside of her passion for missing children, is she too is the mother of a missing child, though he is classified as a missing adult. Her son John Patrick Rowan went missing on February 23, 2001 under suspicious circumstances.

Amber Alert system for missing children

An Amber Alert system is to be set-up for missing children following a recommendation from the Garda Inspectorate.

Kathleen O’Toole said that when a child goes missing in high-risk circumstances it is vital that the gardaí can immediately get the assistance of key networks in alerting the community.

She said that much could be done to establish the system without incurring additional cost.

The ISPCC has welcomed the move but added that we also need to ensure that other mechanisms that are operational across Europe are used here, including the introduction of the 116 000 telephone number.

The number has been in place for more than two years in a number of European countries but not in Ireland.
