In 2006, Congress passed the “Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Protection Act of 2006″ partly due to the lack of a National sex offender registry.
In this article, from the Berkshire Eagle  there is a National registry for missing children but apparently not all States track them.

In Europe the search continues for missing Madeleine McCann. In the U.S. the search is on for a possibly missing child who was seen on a video tape authorities were given by a man who allegedly found it in the desert.

The Federal Government is pursuing conspiracy charges related to dogfighting against Michael Vick. One of the interesting revelations has been that more serious charges won’t be able to be sought due to the efforts of Rep. James Sensenbrenner.
