COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities continued to search Friday for a man suspected of stabbing his common-law wife in northern South Carolina and fleeing with the couple’s two children.
Authorities believe Gerardo Reyes-Campos stabbed Diane Madisol Trejo, 22, in the neck and hands during a fight around 6 p.m. Thursday in Lancaster, South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division spokesman Jennifer Timmons said…
…Reyes-Campos has a criminal record in South Carolina dating back to 1996 that includes arrests for drunken driving, public drunkenness, criminal domestic violence and cocaine possession. Authorities say he should be considered dangerous and urge anyone who sees Reyes-Campos to call 911 or the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
Reyes-Campos, who is in the country illegally, was deported to Mexico in September, according to Lancaster Sheriff’s Maj. David Belk. Authorities did not know he had returned to the U.S., Belk said.
