A different alert has been issued in Kansas. This one is a scam alert.
Scam using AMBER Alert reported in Kansas
Attorney General Steve Six warned Kansans to be wary of a scam using the name of the AMBER Alert program to defraud consumers over the phone.
The caller claims that they are raising money to upgrade the Amber Alert program and donations can be made by cash, credit card or check. The Kansas AMBER Alert Program is not soliciting money from the public. This is a scam.
