March 13, 1991 – September 11, 1998
“Amanda Victoria Brown born March 13, 1991, pure of heart, innocent in mind entered onto this earth bringing joy to everyone she touched. With sparkling eyes and angelic smile-truly a face of innocence-Amanda was enjoying life, chasing butterflies and doing all those things that a seven year old enjoys. On September 11, 1998, her innocence was stolen: her promise of a future came to a chilling end. A convicted criminal, Willie Crain, with a repulsive past of sex crimes against children, stole Amanda from a peaceful sleep and to this day she has never been found.
The details of what happened to Amanda are too gruesome to share, however, what happened to her should never happen to any child ever again”.
A link to the Amanda Brown Foundation has been added to the Missing Child Resources page.
On September 11, 1998, Amanda Brown disappeared from her home at the hands of a child predator. Although her abductor has been brought to justice, her body was never found.
The Amanda Brown Foundation was formed to educate others about the dangers of child abductions and to provide families with resources, information and comfort during a crisis.
Willie Crain Jr., a convicted child molester, was found guilty of and sentenced to death for her murder. Her body has never been found.
TAMPA, Fla. (Court TV) — When Kathy Hartman awoke in the early hours of September 11, 1998, her 7-year-old daughter, Amanda Brown, was gone — and so was her date from the night before. Willie Crain, Jr., a convicted child molester who spent that evening with Hartman in her trailer, now faces charges of first-degree felony murder and kidnapping in the disappearance and presumed death — no body has been found — of Hartman’s little girl.
Details of his conviction are in Willie Crains appeal to the Florida Supreme Court in 2004.
Should you have information regarding the location of her body, please contact the Foundation.
