Since television’s conception, a common complaint has been, with all the available channels, there is nothing on television worth watching. There are only so many times you can view the same infomercials about dietary supplements , miracle herbs, “cellulite” removers, hair-loss and weight-loss products before you conclude it has other uses other than as a connection for a gaming console. That may soon change. You may eventually be able to tune in at your convenience and assist in finding a missing child.
WJZ’s Gigi Barnett reports, there is a new tool that could find missing and kidnapped children and its all through your television remote control. The new device is called “Missing in Maryland on Demand.” Comcast cable teamed up with the Maryland State Police to launch a new “On Demand” video feature that shows viewers names, ages and pictures of missing children, at the touch of a remote control. The missing people in Maryland feature is now available “On Demand” under the “Get Local” link.
The show is being financed by Comcast.

Fantastic! (Comcastic?) We’ve been hearing rumbles for more than a year about one cable provider or another “planning” on creating a missing/abducted channel.
Kudos to Maryland Comcast. I hope they expand this service to all their areas.
Thanks for the info, MCA.
