On her show Wednesday night, Nancy Grace was quick to point out her disdain for the Judge who gave George Edenfield probation in 1997. No mention was made of the fact Edenfield was in court on a probation violation a couple days before Christopher’s murder.
GRACE: Yes, I think I can go on record agreeing with you on that one. And I want to point out that, in 1997, a local judge, Judge A. Blenn Taylor, Jr., you are in contempt! Because you let this guy walk on straight probation after molesting two little boys, straight probation. And he was out walking free when this little boy, Christopher Barrios, age 6, happened to get off the school bus, and the hell this little boy went through before his death is unimaginable.
It is ironic that there was little time available to cover his disappearance but now that the sordid details of his final moments have been released, he is now her featured story. She has been able to devote at least half her shows in March alone to coverage of anything Anna Nicole. So much so maybe she hasn’t realized the family has been speaking out since his murder most recently at his funeral.
Friday’s show
The nation watched during a week-long search for a missing 6-year-old Georgia boy. Now, for the first time, Christopher Barrios’ family speaks out about his murder. A Nancy Grace exclusive. Tune in Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
The nation watched but just not the Nancy Grace Show. It had to turn elsewhere for information about his abduction.
Note: The story of Christopher evidently must wait as there is Breaking news on the Anna Nicole cause of death from Star Magazine.
Friday’s show

There was also a story concerning a child in a suburb of Jacksonville left at a daycare who tested positive for cocaine. Read the First Coast News article here.
JACKSONVILLE, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office report makes reference of “an alleged incident” at the Promise Land Preschool on the campus of the First Baptist Church of Mandarin this week. The term, “alleged” is used because there is no conclusive evidence the school had anything to do with an 18-month-old child testing positive for cocaine.
In this article from the WOTC11, Nancy Grace was the keynote speaker last month at a fundraiser in Savannah, Georgia (just north of Brunswick) for the Backus Children’s Hospital where she made this comment.
”Of all people, children are the ones who truly don’t have a voice,” according to Grace. “So I hope I’ve taken that same message I gave to juries to the airwaves every night, and hopefully today can help children as well.”
Another person speaking out is Christopher’s mother who hasn’t seen him according to news reports since May 2006.
Speaking publicly for the first time, Barrios’ mother, Latrina Keith, lashed out at the boy’s father and legal guardian, Michael Barrios Sr., and the rest of his Brunswick family for failing to properly watch over the boy.Mathis said her daughter and Christopher’s father, Christopher Michael Barrios Sr., were never married but lived together until separating about two years ago.
Update 04-13-07 The family voiced their reaction to the Edenfield’s each pleading not guilty to the charges against them.![]()
For Christopher’s mother, Latrina Keith, the horrid crime is almost too much to believe. “For them to sit there and say they’re not guilty, I just don’t get that,” she said. “I don’t understand that. You’ve already admitted to it, so how are you not guilty?”
“I think they should go ahead and get it over with,” said Mike Barrios, Christopher’s father. “I’m ready for them to receive their punishment now.”
“I want to get up and whip her behind,” said grandmother Sue Rodriguez. “I want to show her what a mad mother looks like.

My eyes have filled with tears so many times today my stomach is churning and my heart hurts literally for the mother of this child. I wish I could not imagine the things that I am. I am so troubled by the violent, sick, wrong, painful way this child was killed.
What gives anyone the right to take a child away from a mother and abuse and kill it with no regard for there dignity or the pain they will cause. What kind of a mother pleasures herself while she lets her adult child sodomize and kill a 6 year old child. sick sick people i hope they burn and suffer painful deaths. I hope they are put into general population in the prison systems right off the bat. I hope everything that can be done wrong to those three monsters is done. To the mother and family of Christopher I send you all the sympathy, all the love I have in my heart and will give you all my prayers for a lifetime god bless you!
I’m so hurt by this, I can’t stop crying, my heart aches. My faith tells me that i must forgive those people that made that child suffer, but i can’t. I want each and everyone of them to feel the same kind of pain that poor child did. Maybe its because i have a little boy that i feel so strongly about this. I never met him, only saw pictures but the first time i saw his picture in the news, i just couldnt stop thinking about him. Now that i heard about what happened, its painful. If i’m feeling like this, i cant imagine what his family is going through. To the Barrios family, God be with you. Lean on Him during this time and know that Christopher is with the Lord.
Christine, I feel the same way. It’s been 3 days and I can’t seem to stop grieving over the loss. He was so beautiful and never deserved to have his final hours be like this. I think that’s what hurts more than anything. Just knowing he suffered so much and all because the system failed him. If you look at the video memorial for him on CrimeLibrary.com, you will see that he was an adorable boy who enjoyed being a kid and loved his family. It is heartbreaking to watch but a must in tribute to his life. By the way, I’m with Kim. They deserve the worst punishment possible which would be sticking them in the general prison population. Better yet, death. At this point, the system owes it to Christopher to carry this out.
I just want to say that my eyes too…fill w/tears whenever I see a picture of that sweet little boy christopher. Unfortunately I have some insight on the terrible things that can happen to a child that I cannot bring myself to divulge here. God, I pray for the Barrios boy. And his poor family. His daddy. And grandma. No one mentioned his mom…that I know of…but I’m praying for her too. My only comfort is that sweet Christopher is safe in heaven now….where NO ONE can hurt him. I know forgiveness is key…to moving forward, but right now…I can’t even wrap my mind around forgiving those evil, sick, twisted people. None of them “deserve” to breathe…much less get a “fair” trial as far as I’m concerned. Does anyone know how to donate to the Barrios family?
Jennifer, I’m trying to find that out, too. If I discover anything, I will post it here right away. Meanwhile, I have been encouraging people to write their congressional reps, especially Jerry Keen of Georgia who is still fighting harder than ever to get tougher laws against sex offenders. Also people should write Glynn County DA Stephen Kelley who is prosecuting the sick, twisted animals who did this to Christopher. Tell him you will not accept anything less than death for them. In honor of Christopher, everyone should be moved to make sure his story doesn’t fade away.
Note: There are apparently two funds setup, one is for a recently established Foundation for harsher sexual predator laws. The other was suggested by the funeral home in lieu of flowers.

I too sent an email to NANCY GRACE regarding this sweet boy’s precious smile and his tragic death. I actually emailed her a week ago, I have even tried caling into her show – still to reply!! It really makes me outraged to see how the trash the media airs. WE need tougher laws and louder voices to speak for our children. It makes me sick to imagine what this little boy suffered. These animals need to be punished and tortured, treated just as they treated that little innocent baby.
God Bless you Christopher, your father & grandmother miss you dearly. Watch over them Angel.
i will never forget this boys face, and the i will never let this rest, i have written to everyone i could think of, because this will not be the last time monsters strike, there are no strict one strike laws for preditors to think twice about. the worst crimes in humanity, are not punished with the severity they deserve, it has been 2 months since i followed this story, and prayed so hard, and i believe this can be the turning point, if everyone pushes the lawmakers to make a change, let your voice be heard!! god bless the barrios family, and may god comfort your hearts, if this has affected me to this degree, i can’t imagine your pain. christopher is in a place where he has everything he wants, and no memory of evil. i also hope the monsters are put in general population, and they recieve as much mercy as they showed. darlene
